Charbon et Turbo by Marie-Suzanne Désilets is a work at the intersection of installation, photography and literature. On the wall, a sentence and some enigmatic images; in the room, a multitude of lecterns; on top, large notebooks to consult. The artist addresses the issue of emotional deprivation and their substitutes. A rabbit and a dildo, Charbon and Turbo, become a pretext for the invention of a story, an intrigue where imagination and reality, phantasms and everyday life merge, raising the limits of the suggestive and decency, discomfort and taboos. The story of the two characters, still in making, is unfinished, and spreads in pieces on several supports, incomplete and precarious.
