Omar Barquet (Chetumal) is a graduate of the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking, La Esmeralda in Mexico City where he has been based since 2000. Together with José Luis Landét, Agustin González and Moris, he has founded the art collective Segundo Piso. Barquet has received several prizes, most notably the MACG bursary (Bancomar contemporary art) in 2009. His works were chosen for the painting Biennial of Tamayo Museum (Mexico City). His works has been presented at Mandragoras Art Space (New York, 2014), at the Contemporary Art Museum of Mérida (Mexico, 2014), at the Kunsthalle Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, 2013) and at the Christinger de Mayo Museum (Zurich, 2015).

// Influenced by the music, the poetry and the particular imagination of the Mexican Caribbean, the practice of Omar Barquet leads the viewer to reflect on the perception of time and life, the cycles of landscape transformation and the chaotic nature of thought while evoking the idea of ​​a pulse, with an ever changing intensity. The CoRa collective is composed of artists Darío Ramírez and Mónica Contreras (Mexico City) currently living and working in Mexico City. The duo holds a BA and a Ph.D in Visual Arts arts from the Autonomous National University of Mexico Citi as well as a MA in en History, Theory and Criticism of Contemporary Art from the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Their works have been presented individualy at the Alliance Française de Mexico (Mexico City, 2012), in the context of Archivo Residual exhibition. In addition, the artists have participated in several group exhibitions such as: L'Estampa de Nuestro Tiempo at Museograbado (Zacatecas City, 2013), Gravura Contemporânea Mexicana at Elf Gallery (Belém do Pará, Brazil, 2013), at Salve São Jorge in Porto das Artes, (Rio de Janeiro, 2017) and in the context of the exhibtion Maternités en cours, Novas Poeticas, at the UFF Centre for the Arts, Brazil (Nitéroi, 2017).

// Founded in 2012, the CoRa collective is inspired by the mutual interests of artists Darío Ramírez and Mónica Contreras, working with a variety of mediums such as graphics, paintings, sculpture, performance, installation and drawing. The artists create their works through a merging of their common daily experiences. The collaborative projects insist on the power of memory and interrogate the weight of tradition, the objectivity, the permanence and the relevance of the artistic work within a simple archeology, ephemeral and disused. 

Ilán Lieberman (Mexico City) lives and works in Mexico City. He has presented his work at the Prince Claus Foundation (Amsterdam, 2009), the Siqueiros Public Art Hall (Mexico City, 2010), the El Paso Art Museum (Texas, 2009) and the Mexico City Museum (Mexico City, 2009). Some of his group exhibitions include presentations at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (Paris, 2012), the International Center of Photography (New York, 2008), the Kunsthalle (Vienna, 2007), the Jumex Museum (Mexico City, 2006), the Nordic Museum of Watercolor (Skärhamn, 2011) and at the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Brussels, 2010). He currently teaches at the national school of painting, sculpture and printmaking, La Esmeralda (Mexico City).

// The work of Ilán Lieberman’s borrows as much from print as it does from documentary, drawing inspiration from advertisements in brochures and newspapers. He takes a critical look at social issues in Mexico's red-light districts, including the issue of prostitution and indigenous people. His lecture puts in context his series of large prints, Foto Réal (Real Photo), as well as his most recent documentaries.

Laura Valencia Lozada (Mexico City) completed her studies at the faculty of art and design of Autonomous National University of Mexico City in 2000. From 2005 to 2008, she teaches a seminar there on the multiplicity of media and is the co-author of Medios Multiples 2, published in 2009. Her work has been presented at the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporapáreo of Mexico City, the Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Gallery in the University of Texas (Texas, 2010), the Espai d’art contemporani de Castello (Valencia, 2007-2008), the Swiss Museum of Architecture (Bâle, 2007-2008) as well as the Danish Centre for Architecture (Cophenhagen, 2007-2008). The artist is currenly completing an independent studies program at Barcelona’s Contemporary Art Museum.

// The practice of Laura Valencia Lozada sits at the limits of artistic activism, public art as well as relational art. Through her projects, the artist treats diversified subjects such as the absence-presence of the disappeared people, the re-reading of history, identities, geology and autobiography. The work of the body, printmaking and explorations of public space are at the heart of her creative process.
