Galerie B-312 is pleased to participate in Nuit Blanche à Montréal 2006. The third edition of this luminous activity that is a part of Montréal en lumière festival. To illuminate the night, to make it look like day, to erase the boundary between light and dark, to do the impossible in other words. Doesn't make much sense, does it? Isn’t night made for sleeping? Why confront it? Confront it even as it was the very face of danger? Unless it is on the contrary that of comfort, of the peaceful moment, because it preserves the obligations of the day.
Whether disturbing for some or soothing for others, the night is the signifier par excellence of the opposite, of otherness, of the margin. It gives a face to the shadow of the day. In this, art is fundamentally nocturnal. But art also knows its night. This will be evident this February 25, when, at the gallery, on the night of February 25 to 26, in the shadow of Thomas Bégin's installation and Julie Doucet's engravings, the voices, sounds and music of Chantal Dumas, Alain Lefevre, Nicolas Dion, Esther Bourdages, Francis Desjardins, the collective Natasha's recording and Minibloc, not to mention the po(ero)etic performance of Julie Doucet and Anne-Françoise Jacques, will resound. A series of performances organized by Galerie B-312 in collaboration with the l’étiquette Le son 666.
