Nous perçons les oreilles

Galerie B-312 is thrilled to host you Friady 22 October at 8 PM at the last of ten music performances programmed for the last season. It will be performed by Joane Hétu and Jean Derome, members of the duo Nous perçons les oreilles. Both musicians play alto saxo, and both sing. Then begins the improvisation, one taking over from the other, on voice, on sax, on sax, on voice. Who plays? Who sings? And what? Doubling, symbiosis, and vice versa. The result is subjective, as if our ears were sending different but not unrelated signals to the brain. The songs are short, naïve and humorous accompanied by radical noise music," says Joane Hétu. They "talk about our lives," says Jean Derome, they are so ordinary (like us) but not easy (like the life). They have two albums: Nous perçons les oreilles (1998) et La vie , c’est simple (2002).
