Galerie B-312 invites you to a concert by Lori Freedman and Frank Gratkowski. a very first meeting between two compositors and two virtuous of clarinet and saxophone. An evening of improvised music not to be missed. Lori Freedman is internationally renowned for her multi-skilled style which allows her to interpret and to compose contemporary music as well as electroacoustic and improvised music. She collaborates regularly with visual artists, theatre artists and dancers. More than thirty compositors have composed clarinet bass solos for her. She has played with Misha Mengleberg, Maggie Nicolas, joe Mcfee, Peggy Lee, Steve Lacy, George Lewis and Iva Bitova. She has recorded two solo discs, Huskless! Under the Artifact label and À un moment donné with Ambiance Magnétiques. Originally from Hamburg, Frank Gratkowski has played as a solist with several orchestras and music groups. Since the early 90s he performs solo or group concerts throuth Europe, Canada and united states. He has played with Robert Dick, Phil Wachsmann, Radu Malfatti, Herb Robertson, Maricio Mattos and Roy Anderson. He has taught at the Berlin, Cologne and Hanover Conservatories’ of Music and gives workshops all around the world. He has more than twenty recordings to his credit.
