We invite you to have a look at our most recent workshop with the members of Action Centre-Ville, an organization offering activities to individuals aged 50 and above. This season, artist Andréanne Godin instructs the group of participants about space reconstruction through drawing, photography and installation.

FAIRE - VOIR - EXPLORER
For nearly three years, the Galerie B-312 offers workshops in cultural mediation to the seniors of the Action Centre Ville centre. Directed by professional artists, these exploratory workshops are accompanied by studio and gallery visits, aiming to grant the tools through which the individual can formulate their own artistic practice and familiarize themselves with contemporary art, all in offering a privileged access to creation. 

THE DRAWING, A CONSTRUCTION OF SPACE
In this series of workshops, multidisciplinary artist Andréanne Godin, inspired by notions of representation of space (physical and perceptual) inherent in her practice, shared her creative process with the participants. In employing mediums such as photography, drawing and installation, the participants were invited to reinterpret places they inhabit or that are of a certain significance to them, focusing on how different intensities of light can affect one’s perception of fixed place. Furthermore, they were encouraged to go beyond a simple photographic reproduction, rather to translate these spaces into black and white drawings. In addition, the participants got a chance to create color drawings of singular objects that they later explored through diverse ways of installation offering different readings to the audience. Considering drawing as a construction was among the main objectives of this course. Various ways of using the mediums, surfaces and challenging the two dimensionality of paper and its performative aspects were also investigated.

NIGHT OF DRAWINGS AND INSTALLATIONS
To conclude this project, a public presentation of the works created by the participants of this series of 10 workshops will be presented at the Galerie B-312 on Thursday December 13 from 5 to 9 pm.
