Philippe Allard

Artist
Philippe Allard lives and works in Montreal. He holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Université du Québec à Montréal. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, France, Portugal, Morocco and South Korea. His work has been shown at articule, the Darling Foundry, Atoll Centre, the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown and recently completed a special project with Dare-Dare. With a focus on in situ interventions, he has also completed several commissions for public and private works.

Michel Boulanger

Artist
Michel Boulanger, born in Montmagny (Quebec) is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Montreal. He holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (1984) and a master’s degree in visual arts from Université du Québec à Montréal (1992). Michel Boulanger has participated in numerous exhibitions in Canada and abroad, notably in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, the United States and Mexico. In 2004, his work was featured in a solo exhibition at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. His works belong to numerous public and private collections.

Véronique Chagnon Côté

Artist
Véronique Chagnon Côté is a Montreal artist who recently graduated from Concordia University’s Master of Fine Arts program (2016). Her work focuses on exploring the phenomenology of our perception of space in painting. Her work has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including Petites pièces at FOFA Gallery (Montreal), Vous êtes ici at CIRCA art actuel (Montreal), Méandre  at Zalucky Contemporary Gallery (Toronto) and Espaces incertains at Galerie B-312 (Montreal).

Chloé Desjardins

Artist
Chloé Desjardins completed a Bachelor’s degree in studio arts at Concordia University and a Master’s degree in creation at the School of Visual and Media Arts at the University of Quebec in Montreal. During this last training, she studied and deepened her knowledge of casting and moulding techniques. Now, sculpture takes up a predominant place in her practice. Over the last few years, her work has been presented in many cities in Quebec and Canada.

Suzanne Joos

Artist
Suzanne Joos lives and works in Montreal. She is interested in disorientation by questioning the notion of territory through fictitious maps. Since 2013, she also questions the concept of nomadic workshop as in Ailleurs exhibition curated by Catherine Bolduc and as part of the 2014 edition of Art Souterrain.

Guillaume La Brie

Artist
Born in Saint-Hyacinthe in 1978, Guillaume La Brie lives and works in Montreal. In 2001, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from UQÀM before completed a master’s degree at the same institution in 2007. Often granted by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts, his work in space’s symbolism has been exhibited in several artist-run centers and museums from 2001 to the present such at Circa art actuel, Galerie B-312, Centre Clark, Darling Foundry, Langage Plus, Musée régional de Rimouski, Axenéo7 and Dare-Dare.

François Lacasse

Artist
François Lacasse holds a master’s degree from Université du Québec à Montréal where he taught from 2001 to 2016. He has been a member of Galerie B-312 since 1992 where he was assistant director and co-director between 1998 and 2001. His research in painting has been presented several times in solo exhibitions from 2000 to today at Galerie René Blouin in Montreal.

Michel Laforest

Artist
Originally from La Tuque, Michel Laforest lives and works in Montreal. His video installation and video performance works have been presented in numerous group exhibitions and festivals in Canada, Brazil and Europe. Among his solo exhibitions at Occurence, Galerie B-312, Bang Centre, La Bande Vidéo, Verticale, La Chambre Blanche (in collaboration with Manon De Pauw) and Dare-Dare. Holder of a master’s degree in visual arts from UQÀM, he teaches at the visual arts department at Cégep Marie-Victorin. 

Manuela Lalic

Artist
Manuela Lalic work has been presented in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. Her artistic biases have led her to do several international residencies in New York (Canada Council for the Arts - International Studio and Curatorial Program residency, 2009), Rajasthan, India (Sandarbh Artist Residency, 2013-2014) and Yaoundé, Cameroon (short residency as part of the Ravy Biennale, 2016). Since 2014, Manuela Lalic has been a lecturer at UQÀM’s School of Visual and Media Arts. 

Paméla Landry

Artist
Paméla Landry works in Chaudière-Appalaches. Her installation and sculptural work has been presented in group and solo exhibitions in Canada and Europe. She holds a master’s degree from Concordia University. She is a member of several artist-run centres such as Galerie B-312, Circa art actuel and Est-Nord-Est where she is also an administrator. Her work is part of public and private collections. 

Renée Lavaillante

Artist
Renée Lavaillante lives and works in Montreal. She is a graduate of Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris-IV) and Concordia University. Since 1985, she has devoted herself exclusively to drawing practice : autonomous drawings, installations, in situ, books. She has present about thirty solo exhibitions in Quebec, France, South Korea and Italy, and has participated in group exhibitions in Quebec, Great Britain, Belgium and Cuba.

Gilles Mihalcean

Artist
Born in 1946 in Montreal where he lives and works, Gilles Mihalcean is a self-taught artist. His work has been widely distributed in Quebec since the 1970s. Extremely active and involved in the art world, he participates in numerous juries, was retained as a specialist in the Programme québécois d'intégration des arts à l'architecture from 1994 to 1997, and sat on the programming committee of the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal from 1997 to 2002.

Michel Paradis is a collector and co-founder of the Grantham Foundation for Art and the Environment.

La Famille Plouffe

Artist
La Famille Plouffe has worked together since the arrival of each one in the life of the other. After a family stay at the Maisons Daura, international artists’ residencies in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie in France, it decided to put forward this shared signature for the sake of upholding the integrity of the unit as a whole. Since then, La Famille Plouffe took part in the 35th International Symposium of Contemporary Art of Baie-Saint-Paul, the Triennale Banlieue!

Geneviève Rocher

Artist
Born in Cambridge, USA, Geneviève Rocher lives and works in Montreal. A key figure in feminist abstract painting in Quebec, Geneviève Rocher devotes her practice to revalidating the material, pictorial and structural conditions that have been disparaged by dominant value systems in the visual arts. Her work highlights these discriminatory connotations, not only in the use of patterns, but also more insidiously with medium, material and formal structures.

Francine Savard

Artist
Francine Savard lives and works in Montreal. She obtained a master’s degree in visual arts from UQÀM (1994) and did graduated studies in graphic design at Royal College of Art in London, UK. (1978-1979). Her work has been shown in exhibitions in Quebec and Canada, including Entangled: Two Views on Contemporary Canadian Painting at the Vancouver Art Gallery (2017); Le Projet peinture.

Carolyne Scenna

Artist
Carolyne Scenna lives and works in Montreal. She holds a master’s degree in Visual and Media Arts from UQÀM (2017). Her work has been namely presented at Les Territoires (2015), Parisian Laundry (2016), Galerie de l’UQÀM (2017), Centre Clark (Pluton, 2019), ICA of Baltimore (USA, 2019), Galerie B-312 (2020) and soon at Centre Skol in Montreal and l'Écart in Rouyn-Noranda (2021).

Julie Trudel

Artist
Julie Trudel is a painter and Assistant Professor at UQAM in Montreal, where she lives and work. She holds a BA, a BFA and an MFA from UQAM and has exhibited across Canada, Europe and the United States including recent group exhibition Entangled, two views on contemporary Canadian painting at the Vancouver Art Gallery (2017) and The painting project at Galerie de l'UQAM (2013). Trudel was a two-time finalist for the RBC Canadian Painting Competition (2011 and 2012) and the winner of the 2013 Joseph Plaskett Award.

Aïda Vosoughi

Artist
Aïda Vosoughi is an Iranian visual artist who lives and works  in Montreal since 2014. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in visual arts in Tehran, as well as a certificate in contemporary art history. Even after leaving Iran, Aida continued researching ancient Middle Eastern literature, discovering along the way its incredible potential to be used in contemporary contexts. Presently she is exploring the different potentialities of art in relation to the size of paintings.
