OPENING ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10 AT 5:30 PM

Karine Fréchette's exhibition Dissimulations brings together works that are part of the tradition of formal abstraction and borrow from different streams of painting, especially op art. The paintings incorporate various stratagems - accumulation of information, contradictory shapes, canvas distortion - to blur the legibility of the works. Following an exploratory approach, the artist creates perceptual gaps so our gaze would oscillate between one thing and another and make us read each painting with renewed attention.
